JaguarPC Web Hosting, Debuts New Web Site Launch, Promotion Celebration

Houston, Texas - (The Hosting News) - April 8, 2008 - Web hosting solutions firm, JaguarPC, has debuted a new promotion, to provide clients with continuous free upgrades as needed, when they reach 80% capacity.

The ”Endless Disk Space” program, is designed to give Shared hosting clients begin with 50 GB of disk space and semi-dedicated hosting clients start with 100 GB. As soon as 80% capacity is reached, customers can instantly add more with one click from the control panel. When their new capacity approaches 80%, once again they can increase their disk space.

Greg Landis, President of JaguarPC noted, ”The industry has gotten a bit crazy recently with ridiculous numbers being thrown around and hosts knowing full well they wouldn’t be able to handle the load if all their customers took them up on the offer. We stepped back and asked ourselves what the right thing to do for our customers is. Why don’t we give them peace of mind without making these over the top promises? In essence, Endless Disk Space simply means you will have capacity that always grows with your needs.”

In contrast to misleading industry promotions with unlimited or grossly inflated resources with their hosting packages and bury the conditions for account termination in small-print terms of service, the JaguarPC promotion is straightforward and meant to bring transparency to the battle of disk space.

JaguarPC’s new web site includes a community forum, updated web hosting and company blog, user-friendly control panel and the nixcore client management software. In addition, JaguarPC has made a number of changes: -Semi-dedicated accounts now have a failover hosting option to provide greater redundancy and peace of mind -New dedicated server plans have been rolled out -All reseller plans have had their disk space and bandwidth doubled while keeping the same prices, retroactive for all existing clients

JaguarPC, based in Houston Texas and owned by Jaguar Technologies LLC Hosting, provides Internet hosting solutions to small and medium-sized businesses, government agencies, prominent individuals and non-profit organizations worldwide. JaguarPC’s core portfolio comprises information technology and business hosting services, as well as programming services. JaguarPC’s complementary subsidiary businesses is Devpond software, a web software company.

Port City Web Hosting Firm, Relocates Corporate Headquarters, Expands Website

Portsmouth, New Hampshire - (The Hosting News) - March 19, 2008 - Website hosting, design and development firm, Port City Web, has relocated its corporate offices, while devising two new businesses, and deploying significant upgrades to its web hosting platform.

The newly launched corporate website, was moved back to downtown Portsmouth, NH. The new location is at 500 Market Street, Suite 1E, Portsmouth, NH 03801. Located next door to The Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, and within walking distance to the heart of Downtown Portsmouth, the new location offers on-site parking, upgraded facilities, and easy access to route 95.

The new facility will also offer a ”decompression room” where employees can play the latest video game or watch some television on one of the company’s high-definition flat screen televisions during their break.

Erik Crago, President and CEO of Port City Web noted, ”We wanted to create a fun and enjoyable workplace for our team, who often work 10 to 12 hour days. By giving our employees tools to decompress during bad weather days, and close proximity to downtown for walks on nice days, we hope to strike a balance between hard work and play.”

To accommodate the increase in demand for business-class, eCommerce, and email hosting, Port City Web has invested over $100,000 in upgrades at its hosting facility. In this latest upgrade, HP servers were phased out and replaced with new Dell PowerEdge servers, with dual quad-core Xeon processors, large SCSI drives, redundant network cards, and tons of memory each. Networking equipment was also upgraded, including more firewalls running in active/passive failover to ensure websites are up and running in the case of a firewall failure. An additional data connection was added, and all the firewalls were upgraded to 1.5 GB of throughput. Mr. Crago added, ”Dell was great in working with us on this upgrade project, from financing to technical support; we’re grateful for their assistance.”

To meet the needs and demands of customers, Port City Web has spun off two new businesses: Port City Hosting, LLC and New Hampshire eCommerce Fulfillment, LLC. Port City Hosting, LLC was born from the website and email hosting group within Port City Web. The new company will share Port City Web’s new downtown Portsmouth offices and will host its servers at BayRing’s Portsmouth co-location center.

New to the offerings will be eCommerce shopping cart hosting for a monthly fee. Beyond regular web hosting, Port City Hosting will be offering a fully featured shopping cart eCommerce website, with design options, for a monthly fee, similar to how people pay for web hosting.

Mr. Crago explained, ”This is web and email hosting with a very powerful shopping cart for a reduced monthly fee. We’re going after those small businesses who want to stay local with their eCommerce, but who cannot afford a typical eCommerce investment. Of course they will have fewer options than a full-blown custom eCommerce implementation, but down the road when they’re ready for more, we can help and we can add onto what they have rather than starting from scratch.”

To meet the demands for eCommerce fulfillment in the area, and to clearly separate those services from the website design and development services, Port City Web has purchased 3,500 square feet of warehouse and office space in Greenland, NH. In addition, Port City Web has created a new business, New Hampshire eCommerce Fulfillment, LLC, to handle all of the eCommerce fulfillment and shipping customers.

Mr. Crago remarked, ”Centrix Bank was really great to work with during this whole process. This was our first commercial real estate purchase and they helped to make the process go very smooth, in addition to a few other people involved. We expect New Hampshire eCommerce Fulfillment to do very well in the Greenland facility.”

Lastly, the firm has launched a new website for itself at www.PortCityWeb.com, designed to better portray the company’s brand and capabilities with a more corporate look and feel. Mr. Crago concluded, ”We wanted it to be more representative of our current customer base and our target customers. The new site is a bit less artsy and more business-like, while still displaying our distinct style.”

Port City Web is a, full-service website hosting, design, development, and marketing company. Specializing in online commerce, also known as ecommerce, Port City Web provides cost effective electronic marketing tools that are built to work with current systems. Past and present clients include The University of New Hampshire, Born and Bicknell, Columbia University, Service Credit Union, NAPS, K2, Lonza Biologics and Smith and Wesson.

Dedicated Server, Colocation Web Hosting Provider, LeaseWeb, Debuts Green Promo

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - (The Hosting News) - March 10, 2008 - International business hosting services firm, LeaseWeb, is offering extensive green improvements, for its customers currently using Windows Server 2003, having configured over 2,000 dedicated servers at its EvoSwitch facility.

Dedicated Servers are the most versatile and powerful solution for heavy-duty hosting tasks. Therefore, the company has prepared its dedicated servers for hosting customers that want to take advantage of the new operating system as soon as it is available.

Ruud Mous, Sales Director for LeaseWeb noted, ”During the trial period, we gained important experiences using the Windows Server 2008. We were able to study the new operating system for weeks, with technical support from Microsoft for our people. Windows Server 2008 is a better hosting platform than Windows Server 2003, in particular due to the improvements in deployment and imaging management, but also as a result of the substantially higher number of sites per server and the improved performance of PHP.”

The Windows Server 2008 Early Bird promotion is possible due to LeaseWeb’s Microsoft Gold Partnership and its participation in the Microsoft Rapid Deployment Program (RDP) for Windows Server 2008. Through the RDP, Microsoft has given a select number of partners the opportunity to test Windows Server 2008 at an early stage - even before the product is released to market - with technical support from Microsoft. LeaseWeb’s Early Bird promotion package includes a Dedicated Server, bandwidth, and a pre-installed Windows Server 2008 with prices starting at 69 pounds per month. The Early Bird servers are hosted in LeaseWeb’s extensive hosting network.

LeaseWeb runs 500 racks in the climate-neutral data center EvoSwitch, the only greendata center in the Netherlands . The Windows 2008 servers are also located in this green data center. Those hosting customers who are interested can also use The Green Fan label (www.thegreenfan.com), which enables them, in their marketing communications, to show their customers that they make a positive contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.

Internet Information Services 7 is an important feature in Windows Server 2008. Mr. Mous added, ”IIS7 allows us to host as many as 5,000 websites per server. IIS 6, on the other hand, was in many cases only able to handle 1,500 websites. This represents a huge improvement in efficiency within our own organization, but also for customers with a Dedicated Server.”

LeaseWeb also gives positive reviews for Powershell and Server Core. Mr. Mous continued, ”Windows administrators may have to get used to the Powershell, but it is the future for Windows and other Microsoft products. Powershell is extremely powerful and the scripting features far exceed VBScript. Now everything can be organized and scripted from the command prompt. It can be used with IIS, Exchange 2007 and SQL 2008.”

Another important innovation in Windows Server 2008 is the addition of Hyper-V, the final version of which is expected later this year. Mr. Mous concluded, ”We have also been offered the opportunity, via the Hyper-V Microsoft Rapid Deployment Program, to test Hyper-V at an early stage - and our first experiences are extremely positive. Hyper-V turns out to be an extremely powerful virtualization software. The LeaseWeb product portfolio now includes several virtualization techniques, to which Hyper-V will be added in the near future.”
